In this issue of Home Design magazine, create your dream sanctuary with our luscious designs. Plus, planning the perfect Outdoor kitchen, expert advice on kitchen design and more.
Kitchens and bathrooms are major areas of our homes and the most renovated rooms in our houses. This issue celebrates kitchen and bathroom design, with fabulous examples from some of Australia’s best designers and manufacturers, along with expert advice on planning the perfect kitchen. When it comes to cooking outdoors, which is something many of us can do throughout the year, there’s nothing like a dedicated outdoor cooking space. Our projects look at the many different elements that go into creating an outdoor kitchen, from the humble barbecue to a fully fitted kitchen with everything for the masterchef in your family.
After bathrooms, bedrooms must be the next most important personal space, dedicated places for relaxing, unwinding and just being ourselves. Finding a look you love is a very personal choice and there are myriad furniture selections and furnishings from which to choose. Our stylist, Sabrina, chose a “skandi” theme for this issue’s bedrooms and bathrooms photo shoot. Cool, crisp and filled with character, this look will suit all home styles, from apartments and beach houses to city and country residences.
With the hot summer months almost behind us, I wonder how many of you sweltered in the heat which entered your home through window glazing. Protecting your windows from the elements will go a long way towards reducing your power bills in summer and winter. Energy-efficient curtains, shutters and shades are not only attractive, they are also practical solutions. In our window treatments feature, we look at several options that have both minimal and maximum visual impact, with energy efficiency foremost in mind.
I hope you enjoy our featured homes this issue, which include projects from London, Taiwan, Miami and Sydney.
