Outdoor Design Magazine Issue 42
Award-winning gardens are a valuable source of inspiration when you’re planning a new outdoor space and if you want to see just what our landscapers are capable of, take a look at the entrants in the 2022 NSW Landscape of the Year Awards. Proudly presented by Outdoor Design magazine, the inaugural NSW Landscape of the Year Awards will recognise and celebrate the very best residential landscape design and construction from around NSW. The categories run the gamut, from courtyard design to sustainable landscapes. Some projects are bijou, others of larger scale, but all exemplify good design and are a testament to construction excellence. The winners of each category will be announced in the next edition of Outdoor Design.
The Gold Sponsor of the 2022 NSW Landscape of the Year Awards is Schots Home Emporium, a renowned national supplier of beautifully designed outdoor furniture, decor, pots, urns, tiles and heating products. Schots’ expert team has extensive experience transforming outdoor spaces, working alongside homeowners and landscaping professionals.
In our Landscape Architects & Designers section, we introduce you to some of this country’s finest landscaping professionals and provide a tantalising taste of the diverse gardens they produce. And while good design is imperative, so is the selection of materials, finishes, products and plants that complement the style of your garden while offering quality and longevity. We make that process a little easier with our Alfresco Living section where we showcase an array of products, from lighting to furniture, for the well-dressed garden.
To ensure your new outdoor living space will complement your home and meet your family’s needs, now and in the years to come, working with an experienced landscape professional is recommended. That said, the entire process will yield better results if you do a bit of research before you engage a designer or landscape contractor. In our outdoor living feature, we showcase a raft of design ideas and share some expert tips on getting the most out of your new alfresco entertaining area. We follow this with a special look at shading solutions, a necessity if you plan to use your outdoor space when the summer sun is at full force.
