Smart Food Ideas: One Pot Cookbook
Having a busy lifestyle, while also enjoying a love of cooking, may not be the perfect marriage. We all know what it's like when you come in from a hard day's work and you fancy something delicious for dinner, but the fact that all you have left in the tank is the energy of a sloth means that it's going to be beans on toast or a call out to a fast-food delivery outlet – neither option leaving you feel particularly satisfied.
One pot cooking is as old as the hills, but it's perhaps a variation of cooking that's been lost to a world conjested with television cooking shows and our open access to a global cuisine of aisle upon aisle of fanciful ingredients. Yes, it's great to have all those options, but it's also nice to put your feet up and let your hob do all the work for you. That's where one-pot cooking and the slow cooker come to the party.
